CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
Teesta agro industries limited, the most prized possession and the pride of Jalpaiguri district in west Bengal is in its 15th year of operation and takes the opportunity to express our deep sense of gratitude to people from all parts of society of this region. Needless to mention here that apart from feeding 500 families directly it has been instrumental in changing the socio/economical setup of this region.
The entrepreneur not only aims at industrialization in the state for its socio/ economic development but also look forward to play a major role in developing / improving the standard of living of the people living in area near by the factory by way of opening schools, Health centeres, providing drinking water facilities to the surrounding villages, promoting / organizing sports activity among the talented students of the near by schools / colleges, cultural activities etc.

The company in its endeavor to fulfill its corporate social responsibility has now become a household name in the vicinity near to the factory set up. While general problematic areas of education health poverty, has always been drawing attention, major thrust area / focus has been planned on WOMEN HEALTH, CHILD CARE, PROMOTION OF SPORTS / ACADEMICS amongst talented students of this region.

FOLLOWING ACTIVITIES ARE CONTINUOUSLY TAKEN UP BY THE COMPANY THROUGH OUT THE YEAR

1. HEALTH: A well-equipped Hospital with experienced medical professional is setup near to the factory for its employees & local peoples. All sort of treatment along with pathology test and ECG facility are being provided. Apart from that Gyno & child specialist are also attending once in a week.

2. HEALTH CAMP:
Free Health checkup camp on every Saturday in remote area is being conducted with free supply of medicine by our medical team.

3. EYE CAMP: Free Eye Camp has been conducted regularly in our hospital for the local people.

3. IMMUNISATION PROGRAMME: Children immunization programme is conducted at regular interval in the Hospital and also in camps.

4. EDUCATION: One school for girls has been established in the year 2003 where 150 girls from near by areas are studying with out any fees. The students are provided free uniform, books, and other study materials. Foods having nutritional values are also provided to the students every day. Planning's are on to convert this school to a boarding school, where in focus on students will be career oriented.

5. LIBRARY: In consultation with local clubs the company provides school text books to the library clubs so that the poor & talented students can take books regularly from the club library for reading purpose A new library room is also under construction to house the library.

 

6. TAILORING INSTITUTE: For women members of the area a free tailoring training institute is opened where all kinds of tailoring methods with practical has been taught by an expert Tailor Master without any fees. Trained girls / Ladies have started earning their livelihood from this also.

7. FOOTBALL COACHING CAMP: Young talents are picked up and are being groomed as future talents at different coaching camps. All the expenses of the coaching camp, dresses, nutritional foods are also borne by the company.

8. SPORTS:
Every year this company conducts sports for the Senior and Junior girls from the selected school of this area. Talented and potential athletes are being promoted by this company for their future sports career similarly sports programme among the employees as well as for their children are being organized every year & the winners are felicitated.
 


 

9. HUMAN RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT: A considerable amount is being spent every year on HRD. A reputed HRD organization has been entrusted to interact with employees to make an objective assessment of their potentiality, input training needs, career growth etc. and action plans are taken up on regular basis. That apart pilot project trainings for the children of the employee on health, hygiene and desirable habits, behavior is being undertaken on regular basis.

10. PLANTATION: To maintain ecological balances plantation has been given top most priority and massive plantation programme is being undertaken during the monsoon every year in side & out side the factory premise

11. CULTURAL PROGRAMME: Considering the remote area & the poverty sticken people who live around this region, the company on regular basis organizes various entertainment programmes like Orchestra, melody, Drama, local festivals etc.

 

 

 

 



12. PUBLIC WORKS: For the convenience and benefit of the local people the company constructs Black top roads, renovates school buildings, of the existing schools, cremation ground etc
 

 

 

 

 

 


13. OTHER SOCIAL ACTIVITY: Every year during winter seasons woolen blankets / Blazers/ sarees are being distributed to poor and needy people of this region.
